The Villages Craft Festival will be returning to town this weekend, featuring arts and crafts from some of the country’s top crafters.
This is fifteenth year that the craft festival has been held at The Villages, Florida, and it seems to become a bigger deal each and every year. There will be some 100 crafters from 30 states in attendance at this year’s festival, each of which have been hand picked from hundreds of eager applicants.
The Villages Craft Festival also includes a juried outdoor craft showcase with awards going to the most skilled and inspiring artisans. Receiving recognition at a major craft show like this is a big deal in the crafting world and is one of the many reasons that so many crafters are eager to attend. The festival is organized by American Craft Endeavors, which is also responsible for similar major events like the Siesta Fiesta Craft Festival and the Annual Downtown Sarasota Craft Festival.
Price ranges vary widely for the unique items that you’ll find at the festival with small items going for as little as $3.00 to original works of art priced at $3000 or more. Unlike some similar events, all crafters are required to remain onsite throughout this festival. They will be managing their booths answering questions, discussing their work and accepting commissions.
Visitors to the craft festival can expect to find a vast array of well-crafted items, ranging from original pieces of art like pottery and paintings to useful daily items like scented soaps, candles and handmade clothing. The event will also feature live music from a handful of different musicians, as well as snacks and refreshments from local restaurants and food stands.
Best of all, admission to The Villages Craft Festival is totally free. The festival with be held at Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages, Florida on July 7th & 8th from 10 am to 4 pm.
